Ocean Club at Turtle Mound 207 is an updated oceanfront condo located at the south end of New Smyrna Beach in Bethune beach. With 10-foot ceilings, four sets of sliders, and wrap-around views, this end unit has an extra set of picture windows and an extra window over the kitchen sink, facing south.

Enjoy your time in a well-equipped kitchen supplied by cooking enthusiasts. The appliances date from 2021 and 2022. The beautiful granite counter and bar (with a swivel seat for your companion) will remind you of the sand.

The updated dining and living room area features seating for four and stylish new banded blinds to block the morning light and protect sea turtles in the season. A big tv, history-themed decor, and the blue and green natural scene present themselves for your enjoyment. The great room view includes our nicely-furnished, very private balcony. The balcony exposures let you see the renovated, landscaped pool, the lifeguard station, and the nearby picnic shelters. Lean out the southern end to see Bethune Park and the Indian River Lagoon. You can’t miss the Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center rocket launches from any part of the front of the house, but try looking due south.

Both bedrooms feature new beds and bedding, and each has a desk. On the west side of the building and three floors up, the bedroom windows offer a great view of the river and the park.

With new front-loading washer and dryer and an updated bathroom, the unit is perfectly equipped with household and kitchen appliances, especially for coffee lovers. A fun closet in the entryway offers beach chairs, fishing gear, a cooler, binoculars, and more.

The unit sits directly on Mary Bethune Beach Park, with beach access in front, picnic areas to one side, and pickleball, fishing, kayak launch, volleyball, and a playground across the street. See manatees and dolphins up close. One mile down the road is the Canaveral National Seashore and its unspoiled beaches and wildlife. The apartment is less than one mile from the famous restaurant and music venue J.B.’s Fish Camp.

The History of Turtle Mound

Turtle Mound is an ancient archaeological site managed by the National Park Service as part of the Canaveral National Seashore. The turtle shaped mound, comprised of oysters and refuse from the prehistoric Timucuan people, measures 50 feet high and 600 feet long and is the largest shell midden in the mainland United States. Added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1970, the mound can be seen from as far as seven miles out at sea, and was used as a landmark by early Spanish explorers and succeeding sailors. Archeologists have dated Turtle Mound to around 1000 BCE.
